Strawberry Smoothie Recipe

What a great way to start the day, with a strawberry smoothie!  Along with the banana, strawberries have to be the most used fruit in smoothies.  To make the best strawberry smoothie, start with good quality fruit.  You will want to buy organic as strawberries tend to be one of the most heavily pesticide sprayed fruits.  You can buy frozen or fresh.  Get fresh when they are in season, because that is when they taste the best!

If you want some variations on this recipe try adding other fruits such was watermelon, peaches, blueberries or raspberries.  You can turn this into a green smoothie by adding a handful of fresh spinach or other greens.

Strawberry Smoothie Recipe

In your blender add about 1 cup of water, 2 handfuls of strawberries, one banana, 1 tablespoon ground flax seed and a couple of ice cubes.  Turn the blender on high (don’t forget to replace the lid) and mix until fully blended.  Bon appetite!
